How often should we have our chimney serviced?

Wood Fuels require that you have your chimney inspected once a year and cleaned if necessary.  In some cases if you are a heavy wood burner you may get it cleaned even more frequently.  No matter what fuel you are using it is recommended to have your chimney flue inspected each year.

What about my furnace flue?

Every chimney flue should be inspected yearly, and it is recommended to have your furnace flue cleaned every 2-5 years.

What is included in a chimney cleaning?

Our chimney cleanings consists of the flue being entirely swept.  It also includes a twenty point inspection of your chimney which includes your hearth, masonry, damper, flashing, brickwork, etc.  Our experienced service technicians will make note of any necessary repairs and recommendations.

How often should I service my pellet or gas units?

Gas stove, fireplaces, and fireplace inserts should be professionally serviced at least every three years.

Pellet stoves and inserts should be serviced and cleaned every year. In addition to the yearly maintenance most pellet stoves require the homeowner to perform routine weekly and some times daily maintenance procedures. For instance, most pellet stoves need to have the ash pan emptied once a week and require the burn pot and heat exchanger to be cleaned daily before starting the unit.
