Additional Terms & Info:

Pets: Although we love animals and appreciate your friendly furry companions, we please request that you put them into a different room for the duration of our service. This not only allows us the necessary attention and focus needed to give your chimney a thorough inspection, it keeps everyone safe as the tools we use can produce a lot of noise(drills, hammers, vacuums etc.).

Weather: Some of our work is weather dependent. Mortar and masonry work cannot be done in the rain or snow. If your appointment is scheduled for a day on which rain is forecast, we will attempt to set you up on the next available date. In some cases, if there is other inside work to be done such as a stove install or liner install, we may be able to do those items and reschedule the masonry.

Winter Season: As winter season approaches, customers will start using their fireplaces or stoves. We require your stove to be off and not hot. If you have a cleaning appointment in the morning, please do not use the stove the evening before. The residual heat stays in the stoves for many hours, especially with wood. We are not able to clean or maintain units that have been running and are hot. This becomes a safety issue for our technicians and also our equipment. If your stove has been running, please call us before the appointment so we can reschedule you.

Clear Walkways & Work Areas: Please remove objects such as ash bins and log holders around your stove or fireplace. We need a clear space of approximately six feet to work properly. If we need to access your attic, please clear objects from walkways to that space, as well as from a six-foot area where we will be working. Snow and ice pose a safety danger to everyone as well as equipment. Please make sure driveways and walkways are clear and sanded if needed. If we scheduled to install a chimney liner and you can use a roof rake to clear a path to the chimney, it might be possible for us to continue with the install; it depends on the specific situation. If too much snow or ice are present, we will call and reschedule.

Masonry Work: During masonry work, which involves grinding out joints and replacing bricks, sometimes adjacent bricks may come apart and old joints fail. Further work may be required, which would be billed separately. In these cases, we will discuss the situation and additional billing with the homeowner before proceeding. The masonry season extends from April 1st to October 15th.

Liners: When the removal of flue tiles is necessary to install a liner, the clay tiles will be broken out and removed. If another flue is in close proximity to the the current flue, the tile removal can sometimes break the other set of flue tiles. We try to note if flues are close together in our inspections and then make this known in the quote/follow up. In the unlikely case that the flues are close and a secondary flue is affected, we will inform the customer and propose a stainless liner install for this secondary flue. The second liner will be an additional cost to the original estimate. These liners are sized to your chimney and come with a forever warranty.

Stove Installs: We do not perform gas line installs, electrical work, or finish work. You will need to find a contractor to do those items. We can recommend contractors who we work with and trust.

Stove Repair: When replacing large refractory fireback pieces on some stoves, additional pieces might need replacement as well. These parts are bolted snugly together. Therefore, removal of one piece might relieve pressure on another and reveal cracks or disintegration. Additional parts and labor will be billed separately and discussed with the homeowner.

Caps: We offer a number of Stainless or Copper multi-flue caps. These caps are custom-fit for your chimney and come with a forever warranty. The warranty even transfers to a new homeowner in the event you should sell your house. These caps have different lid options and powder coating options.
